Over the next couple of weeks we will be closing down our blog but you can still find us on Facebook to keep up to date on the latest events happening at Community Living Dufferin.
In response to a request that we keep our families, staff, volunteers and community abreast of information via the web, we have created a Community Living Dufferin Facebook Fan page.
No one can deny the popularity and success of Facebook and it's the perfect media for us to keep everyone informed and connected.
Fan pages work just like Friend pages, but it's a more inclusive page allowing you to share your thoughts, comments and stories with everyone. So share away!
Not a Facebook user? You don't have to be to view our Fan page.
Share in our excitement and watch the pictorial process of the construction of our new "home".

A talented group of photographers take to the streets, hills, lakes and any other point of interest in Dufferin County. With one "CLICK" of the shutter they help to "CONNECT" you to the beauty they find in our community.

These are a few of my Favourite Things....
It's been a year since they performed the Songs of Beauty and the Beast in 2 SOLD OUT shows, but the Creative Partners on Stage will soon take to the Theatre Orangeville stage once again to thrill us with the Songs of The Sound of Music.
Every Thursday night the halls of Community Living Dufferin ring with the beloved songs of this timeless, favourite movie of fans young and old alike. The actors are excitedly rehearsing and cannot wait for opening night on March 9.
Because of the troupes popularity we are adding a third night to the venue this year.
March 9, 10 and 11th at 7:00pm with a special noon performance for our local schools on March 10.
This performance will thrill audiences, the performers will have everyone singing along and there won't be a still toe in the house as we all dance in our seats.
Who can sit still through those beloved songs; Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, So Long Farewell and of course Do, Re, Mi ... just to name a few.
You're singing them in your head now aren't you, "Do a deer, a female deer, Re a drop of golden sun, Mi a name I call myself, Fa a long, long way to run and So a needle pulling thread...."
For those of us who have attended all the past Creative Partners on Stage performances we have witnessed the tremendous growth, both personally and professionally that these actors have acquired. They have gained self esteem and a self confidence that exudes from each and everyone as they create their characters and entertain us from start to finish.
Ticket sales will be announced soon and available from Theatre Orangeville 519-942-3423. You can also purchase tickets securely online via the Theatre Orangeville box office at http://www.theatreorangeville.ca/
So come and witness first hand how the Creative Partners on Stage answer in their unique style, the question "How do you Solve a Problem like Maria"

Winter building
Up until recently Mother Nature has been on our side with warmer than seasonal temps and very little snow.
But with the current downturn in the weather construction is proving to be more of a challenge to both workers and the site. Our hats off to the men who, day after day work in those sub zero temperatures to get our new "home" finished.
Following are images taken this past Sunday January 3, 2010.

"melt" the block.....
3 giant tanks provide just 3 days supply of propane for the heater.
